Case History - Rebus Training

Kent Computer Consultants supply their Rebus management software to many clients around the world. One popular aspect of the software, which is aimed particularly at the creative industries, is its time management capability. To keep up with demand, Kent Computer Consultants needed to produce e-learning packages to introduce the software to new users, and Orlando has developed a digital multimedia training module to instruct users how to fill in time sheets on a thin client Rebus application.

Rebus is a cross-platform suite of software and the training module would have to run on Macs and PCs too. The chosen method was to develop a Flash-based course running under HTML in a browser window. Video elements were included along with a sound track explaining each function. The vector-based graphics of Flash were necessary to reproduce the fine detail of the timesheet form, which was animated 'in sync' to the sound track to demonstrate data entry. Distribution of the training package is by CD-ROM and local network.
